Description

Weld-i® EDU USB Weld Vision Camera Kit

Give instructors and students a shared view of the welding process with the Weld-i® EDU USB Weld Vision Camera Kit. Designed for classrooms, labs, and training facilities, this compact system keeps the weld puddle, electrode, and base material visible during live welding. Recording through the connected computer allows instructors to revisit technique and discuss the process after each session.

Key Features

  • Monochrome imaging with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 px
  • 60 fps at maximum resolution, with frame rates up to 206 fps
  • Integrated arc-bypass processing and IR illumination
  • USB connection to a PC for viewing and recording without additional capture hardware
  • One optimized operating mode for MMA (stick), GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW
  • Included 25 mm and 42 mm lenses for different working distances
  • Replaceable protective lens covers
  • Operating temperature rated up to 85°C

Live Observation and Recorded Review

Arc-bypass processing and IR illumination help maintain visibility despite welding arc brightness and glare. Instructors and students can observe the same live weld, then use recordings to review weld puddle behavior, arc stability, and technique. The USB-based setup connects directly to a PC for viewing and native recording.

Welding Processes and Lens Options

A single optimized operating mode supports MMA, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW across aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel. The included lenses adapt the view to different training setups: the 25 mm lens supports working distances of 160–250 mm, while the interchangeable 42 mm lens supports 200–450 mm.

Replaceable lens covers protect the optics. The supplied mounting arm, clamp, and non-conductive mounting post provide components for positioning the camera.

Operating Conditions and Optional Accessories

The camera is rated for operating temperatures from -40° to 85°C. Lithium battery operation and a copper heat sink are described as accessory options, but both accessories are listed as not yet available.
