Description

Cavitar C350 High FPS Welding Camera System

The Cavitar C350 Welding Camera System provides monochrome weld visualization with integrated laser illumination to manage the intense light emitted by welding arcs. Its compact design, adjustable optics, and cooling provisions support installation in demanding, space-restricted welding applications. The system offers 1440 x 1080-pixel resolution and 200 fps at full resolution, dependent on computer performance.

Key Features

  • Plug-and-play monochrome welding camera system
  • 1440 x 1080-pixel maximum resolution
  • 200 fps at full resolution, dependent on computer performance
  • Up to 500 fps at 720 x 540 pixels in 2x2 binning mode with the high-speed USB3 version
  • Integrated laser illumination
  • Adjustable optics for application-specific viewing
  • Compact 38 x 45 x 99 mm camera dimensions
  • Cooling channels and camera housing heat sinks

High-Speed Weld Visualization

The C350 offers 200 fps at full resolution, compared with the 70 fps listed for the Cavitar C400-H and Cavitar C400-H Wide. This higher frame rate supports detailed real-time observation for quality assurance, welding research, and welding education.

The high-speed configuration described here uses USB3 video output for real-time weld monitoring and analysis. The supplied interface specifications contain conflicting USB3 and Gigabit Ethernet entries; the interface and connector configuration requires confirmation.

Welding Processes and Applications

The camera supports visualization of GMAW processes, including MIG and MAG, and GTAW (TIG). Supported beam welding processes include CO2 laser, fiber laser, diode laser, Nd: YAG laser, and electron beam welding. The supplied application list also includes plasma welding, additive manufacturing, welding education, and research and design.

Applications include real-time adjustment of welding parameters during automated processes such as tube seam welding. Remote viewing allows operators to observe the process from a distance away from the welding arc, heat, and fumes.

Compact Design and Cooling Options

The compact camera housing supports integration into confined remote viewing locations. Cooling options include passive heat sinking and heat conduction, as well as active air or liquid cooling. Adjustable optics allow the viewing setup to be tuned for the application.
