Description

Weld-i® EDU HDMI Weld Vision Camera Kit

Give instructors and students a shared view of live welding with the Weld-i® EDU HDMI Weld Vision Camera Kit. This compact system keeps the weld puddle, electrode, and base material visible for observation and discussion in classrooms, labs, and training facilities.

The camera connects directly to an HDMI display without requiring a PC. Full HD monochrome imaging, arc-bypass processing, and IR illumination help maintain visibility despite arc brightness and glare. Integration with video capture devices enables recording for playback and instructional review.

Key Features

  • 1920 x 1080-pixel monochrome imaging at 60 fps
  • Direct HDMI display connection with no PC required
  • Integrated arc-bypass processing and IR illumination
  • Single optimized operating mode for MMA (stick), GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW
  • Included 25 mm and 42 mm lenses
  • 10-meter power and fiber-optic cables
  • Replaceable protective lens covers
  • Supports external video capture devices for recording and review

Welding Education and Process Review

Instructors and students can observe the same weld in real time to discuss technique, weld puddle behavior, and arc stability. The system supports MMA, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW across aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel. Recordings made with a connected video capture device can be revisited after the live demonstration.

Lens Options and Camera Positioning

The built-in 25 mm lens supports working distances of 160–250 mm, while the interchangeable 42 mm lens supports 200–450 mm. Replaceable lens covers help maintain image clarity. The kit includes an adjustable mounting arm, crab-claw clamp, and non-conductive mounting post for camera setup.

Cabling and Operating Conditions

The supplied 10-meter power and fiber-optic cables are designed to resist electromagnetic interference and high-frequency noise in welding environments. Their length allows the display and operator to be positioned away from the immediate welding area.

The camera is rated for operating temperatures from -40° to 85°C. A lithium battery, HDMI wireless transmitter, and copper heat sink are described as options for standalone operation, wireless transmission, and higher-temperature applications.

The lithium battery, wireless transmitter, and copper heat sink are listed as not yet available.
